The paradox of olive oil: sustainable product, immature communication

Olive oil is a sustainable product by nature, but how widespread and integrated is sustainability in the companies in the supply chain? During the event, the results of research on sustainability practices in the olive-oil sector will be presented.

A cornerstone food of the Mediterranean diet and a symbol of Made in Italy worldwide, olive oil is a product that, by its nature, is sustainable, as it embodies love for the territory, passion for craftsmanship and attention to quality. But how widespread and integrated is sustainability into the processes of companies in the sector?

 

During the event, the results of a research that considers the social and environmental sustainability practices of a sample of companies in the olive-oil sector will be presented and commented. 

 

The research and analysis work was carried out by professionals from the Consulting Area of the Graduate School of Business and Society in collaboration with the European Observatory for Sustainable Agriculture (OPERA) of Università Cattolica.
