The certification of gender equality in the company has made it possible to formalize and structure the management systems and policies necessary to initiate change. However, there are still clear differences in positions, pay and responsibilities between men and women.
These are some of the ideas that emerged from the webinar "Gender equality in the company: what changes thanks to the UNI/PdR 125:2022 certification?", in which the updates of the research launched more than a year ago and conducted by ALTIS in collaboration with Bureau Veritas Italia were presented.
Moderated by Claudia Strasserra, Chief Reputation Officer of Bureau Veritas, ALTIS junior researcher Chiara Arrighini and Livia Schiavi, compliance and D&I coordinator of Bureau Veritas Italia, spoke to present the work, with the conclusions of Professor Laura Maria Ferri.
Interesting future prospects also emerged from the numbers of the research and the debate of the meeting, in particular at the top management level, it is necessary, among other things, to insist on the promotion and formation of an inclusive and change-oriented leadership culture and to better understand the obstacles to the effective growth and career path of women, as well as to provide mechanisms for evaluating the effectiveness of the strategies and policies in place.
But it is the entire organization that is called upon to change pace in the formation of a culture of equality and inclusion at all levels: for example through "coaching" paths to support women for the development of leadership skills and competencies, or with initiatives aimed at spreading knowledge and the use of policies and tools already available.
