Thanks to the "OneHealth: the many faces of sustainability" initiative, teachers in all Italian schools will have access to educazionedigitale.it, a free educational platform that, through innovative methodologies and tools, develops a new educational project that embraces the issues of health, climate change, sustainable lifestyles, innovation and diversity and inclusion.
In line with the global "OneHealth" approach, in fact, the initiative promotes among students between the ages of 13 and 18 the culture of the link between human, animal and ecosystem health, since taking care of human health means considering the well-being and integrity of each of these sectors.
The project, conceived by Medtronic, a leading company in the HealthCare sector, provides teachers with free educational resources that allow them to deepen the following thematic nuclei with their classes, during a training offer spread over two school years:
- the first year: "Health & Environment" and "Sustainable Lifestyles"
- the second year "Health and Innovation" and "Diversity and Inclusion"
Each year of the project reserves for enrolled teachers in-depth teaching documentation and multimedia tools created to promote active learning and the critical re-elaboration of content for engaging lessons with classes.
"With the OneHealth program we intend to promote the health and integrity of our ecosystems by putting the person and the environment as a whole at the center. By leveraging lifestyles, innovation, sustainability, diversity and inclusion, we invest in our future with the awareness and expertise to support more equitable and accessible health," says Paola Pirotta, CEO of Medtronic Italy and Senior Finance Director of Italy, Ibera and France.
The initiative was developed in collaboration with ALTIS Graduate School of Sustainable Management of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, with Donne Leader in Sanità ONLUS, committed to promoting female leadership in the health and life sciences sector, with Cittadinanzattiva, active in the protection of citizens' rights in the school and health sector, and with Civicamente benefit company, which developed the educazionedigitale.it platform with sociologists, pedagogues and experts in digital communication, specialized in educational projects for schools and society.
"For 20 years we have been working to train change agents, a new class of managers and entrepreneurs capable of governing their organizations, generating a positive impact on the entire ecosystem – says Alessia Coeli, General Manager of ALTIS – Talking to high school students means raising more aware generations and, consequently, having the opportunity to continue to explore the frontiers of knowledge and to be able to to experiment with cutting-edge skills capable of responding better and better to present and future challenges", adds Coeli.
"By promoting diversity and inclusion in Italian healthcare leadership, we are not only fostering innovation but also cultivating a deeper understanding of the interconnection between health and environmental challenges. Women bring valuable perspectives to the table, enriching our ability to tackle complex health challenges and drive positive change towards a healthier and more sustainable future," notes Patrizia Ravaioli, President of LEADS.
