How can the prison system become a laboratory for social sustainability, generating value for individuals, businesses and local communities?
This question lies at the heart of “Beyond Bars: A Hidden Economy That Creates Value. Employment, Inclusion and Opportunities for Businesses in the Prison System”, an event promoted by CSROggi in partnership with ALTIS. The event will take place on Friday, 25 September 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Aula San Francesco at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan.
The event aims to provide businesses, institutions, Third Sector organisations, students, alumni and faculty members with an opportunity to discuss an issue that is becoming increasingly central to ESG strategies: the employment inclusion of people in prison and the contribution that businesses can make to developing tangible pathways towards social reintegration.
Through experiences and first-hand accounts from public institutions, correctional facilities, universities, businesses and non-profit organisations, the event will explore public-private partnership models capable of creating opportunities for people in prison to rebuild their lives.
The discussion will focus on employment programmes, entrepreneurial projects, production supply chains and social innovation initiatives that demonstrate how corporate social responsibility can translate into skills development, lower reoffending rates and a positive impact on local communities.
The event is particularly aimed at companies seeking to integrate the social dimension into their sustainability policies. It will offer practical insights, replicable best practices and potential partnership opportunities. It will also provide an important opportunity to reflect on the role of businesses as drivers of inclusion, social cohesion and shared development.
The event is open to the public. Register below to attend.
