The Graduate School Business and Society of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (Italy) offers a portfolio of MBAs for entrepreneurs in several African countries.

In continuity with our mission - to promote and disseminate responsible forms of entrepreneurship and management aimed at the sustainable development - we developed a Global MBA for impact entrepreneurs in Africa. With this programme, we train entrepreneurs and support them throughout the development and start-up of business ideas with a high social and environmental impact.

All MBAs are developed and managed by E4Impact, which was initially a business unit of the Gradute School. In 2010, it became a Foundation with the support of Securfin, Mapei, Salini-Impregilo, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and Always Africa Association. Later on, it received the support of Eni, Lisa Spa, Intesa Sanpaolo e VueTel (Corporate Participants) and of Diana Bracco, Michele Carpinelli and Jean-Sébastien Deacaux (Individual Participants).

The Foundation contributes to the accomplishment of many Sustainable Development Goals set by Agenda 2030 of the United Nations:

Goal 1: No poverty

Goal 4: Quality education

Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth

Goal 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure

Goal 12: Responsible consumption and production

Moreover, the E4Impact Foundation supports the expansion of European SMEs in Africa. By matching them with reliable local entrepreneurs, it offers small businesses a low cost, low-risk opportunity to enter the African countries where the MBA is offered.

Our MBAs in Africa

All the following MBAs are developed and offered in partnership with local universities. The participants are awarded with a Double Degree from the partner African university and the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Italy).

Creating a bridge between Europe and Africa: how it started

The Graduate School ALTIS was founded with a strong international vocation. In 2005, the year of our foundation, we launched in Castel Gandolfo (Rome, Italy) the "Master in management per lo sviluppo” (Master in management for the sustainable development), addressed to young impact entrepreneurs from Africa who wanted to become protagonists of their own countries’ development.

A few years later, we decided to bring our expertise in the sub-saharan Africa: in 2010 we launched the first “Master in Social Entrepreneurship and Management” in Kenya.

Based on a “Business Ideas Competition”, our MBAs select the best business ideas among the candidates’ proposals, which are then developed, validated and tested throughout the programme. The participants have an opportunity to meet and exchange opinions with other entrepreneurs, researchers and scholars from Italy and investors from Africa and Europe.
