 Barbara BettinelliDopo essersi laureata in Lingue Straniere presso l’Università Cattolica, si è trasferita in Gran Bretagna dove ha insegnato per 15 anni all’Università di Nottingham e completato un dottorato di ricerca in Education. È stata Visiting Fellow al Department of European and International Studies dell’Università di Loughborough e Teacher Fellow presso l’Education Department della stessa università. Ha affiancato l’attività di docenza a quella di esaminatore per l’Institute of Linguists e la Royal Society of Arts e di traduttore e interprete divenendo membro dell’Institute of Translation and Interpreting. Al suo rientro in Italia ha insegnato inglese per la facoltà di Mediazione Linguistica dell’Università Statale di Milano.

Attualmente è Senior Lecturer di ALTIS Graduate School of Sustainable Management per cui tiene corsi di Business English e Advanced Business English nei Master in Finanza Sostenibile e nel Master in Accounting and Auditing. Insegna Lingua Inglese Specialistico per la Laurea Magistrale della Facoltà di Psicologia per le Organizzazione e del Marketing ed English for Communication per il Master in Comunicazione per le Industrie Creative.

Ha lavorato come formatrice in Italia, Regno Unito e Cina tenendo lezioni principalmente sull’insegnamento dell’inglese specialistico. Collabora in qualità di Educational Developer con il Centre for Higher Education Internationalisation per cui tiene workshop rivolti ai docenti che lavorano con classi internazionali.

È autrice di molti corsi di inglese pubblicati da Pearson Longman e ha preparato materiali usati sulle piattaforme della casa editrice.

  


  

Dr Barbara Bettinelli was born and educated in Italy where she worked as an English teacher in the Italian state system up to her late 20s. She then spent fifteen years in the UK where she completed her PhD and taught at the University of Nottingham. She has been involved in teacher training for a considerable number of years: she has held seminars and courses in Italy, the UK and China. Her main interest is the training of non-native teachers of English, which was the subject of her doctoral thesis. She has been involved in European projects linked to the testing and certification of modern foreign languages in general, and English in particular. Her long experience as a trainer and teacher has resulted in her being commissioned a series of language text books published by Longman Pearson and in being invited on many occasions to speak at British Council Conferences,

Currently, she is a lecturer in English at Università Cattolica, teaching on Master and postgraduate programmes and she delivers the professional development modules for the Centre for Higher Education Internationalisation (CHEI).
