Global Social Venture Competition

Global Social Venture Competition

The Global Social Venture Competition  (GSVC) is an international Business Plan competition aimed at fostering the start-up and development of new economically feasible and socially valuable entrepreneurial initiatives. The mission of the GSVC is to catalyze the creation of social ventures, educate future leaders and build awareness of social enterprises.  The competition supports the creation of real businesses that bring about positive social change in a sustainable manner.

The international competition is organized  by Haas School of Business (UC Berkeley, CA) in collaboration with:

  •  Columbia Business School (New York, USA);
  •  London Business School (London, UK);
  •  Indian School of Business (Hyderabad, India);
  •  Essec Business School (Paris, France);
  •  Thammasat University, IMBA (Thailand)

The final round is held each April in the campus of HAAS Business School in Berkley, CA.

ALTIS has been Italian the partner since 2008 and has promoted the initiative locally, gathering and selecting the Italian business plans.

GSVC Italian Round 2011 is open to new ideas or social ventures operating after May 2008, both profit and non-for-profit. In order to participate each team can fill the application on the website www.gsvc.it and send an Executive Summary to globalcompetition.altis@unicatt.it by October 20, 2010.  A committee will screen the Executive summaries. The selected teams will be invited to submit the Business Plan by December 15, 2010 and to present their business ideas to a panel of judges on January 26, 2011.  The three most innovative ideas will we awarded during the final event on January 28, 2011.
