GSVC is an innovative competition between young businesses or novel business ideas designed to form a new generation of entrepreneurs capable of simultaneously developing social and/or environmental projects as well as for profit.
The aim of the competition is to organize and coordinate a series of support activities for young entrepreneurs, including undergraduates and recent graduates in economic and/or scientific disciplines, designed to optimize the business plans of participants and develop contacts between the young entrepreneurs and potential investors who can monitor and encourage the growth of the new businesses.
In order to participate in the competition candidates must have a business project or represent a business created not before May 2008. This can be either non-profit or for-profit. In order to participate in the Italian final, during the initial phase each team must submit an Executive Summary of their particular activity to globalconpetition.altis@uniatt.it by 20th October 2010. Those teams which make it through the initial selection phase should submit their Business Plan to the same address by 15th December 2010. The finalists will be invited to present their business ideas to a jury of venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and academics on 26th January 2011. The conpetition will conclude on the 28th January 2011 with the prize being awarded to the most innovative idea selected by our jury.
Given this initiative's specific focus on companies capable of generating important social and/or environmental benefits, the following three elements should be highlighted in the Business Plan:
The finalists will be invited to participate in both the European final and, ultimately, the World final.
