Euromediterranean School - Introduction to Entrepreneurship

 AIM OF THE COURSE 

EMS 2009 aims to offer young managers from the countries bordering on the Mediterranean Sea an opportunity to obtain the entrepreneurial and managerial skills necessary to start and/or develop a business capable of operating  in multiple markets within the Mediterranean Basin.

By the end of the course, the participants will have developed a deeper knowledge of:

  • The economic, political and legal framework within which the exchanges between Italy in the European context and the countries concerned by the Neighbourhood Policy in Northern Africa and the Middle East take place;
  • The areas of business where it is possible to develop forms of cooperation among small and medium-sized enterprises located on all sides of the Mediterranean Sea;
  • The Italian Economic System and the industrial districts;
  • The financial instruments assisting business initiatives within the Mediterranean countries;
  • The ability to analyse and draw up a business plan;
  • Cross-cultural trading dynamics and opportunities.

 EMS 2009 is divided into two phases:

A. Distance Learning, compatible with ones work responsibilites, in which each student participates via web.
B. Business education and Networking, in which the top students from the distance learning program will be invited to spend 4 weeks in Milan, Italy.

PARTICIPANTS

The program is designed for young people with strong leadership and business potential who desire to:

  • open new business ventures;
  • assume a leadership role in their company's or country's international strategy;
  • create opportunities for foreign businesses to establish commercial relationships within their country of origin.

The E-learning approach of Phase A allows for a significant number students to participate from the following countries: Albania, Algeria, Bosnia-Erzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Egypt, Jordan, Greece, Israel, Italy, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Macedonia, Malta, Marocco, Montenegro, Palestine, Romania, Serbia, Syria, Slovenia, Tunisia, and Turkey.
