The micro-insurance activities carried out by ALTIS in India on behalf of the Generali Group, the leading Italian insurer, have also been operational in Brazil since 2012. The initiative aims to promote the economic development of the poorest and most disadvantaged from within the Brazilian population. The project is designed to support the launch of new entrepreneurial ventures and develop micro-insurance projects, so as to utilise the skills accumulated in the core business.
ALTIS is currently carrying out a preliminary study regarding the launch of micro-insurance activities in Brazil. Current needs and existing projects are being analysed in order to assess potential future actions.
Altis has signed an agreement with Sebrae, the Brazilian Service for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, in order to support both Brazilian and Italian SMEs. This is a reciprocal agreement intended to promote training projects and the consolidation of international exchange programmes.
